In Diablo 2 Resurrected, the Shako (Harlequin Crest) is an excellent helm many players go after. And it's still important in the Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder. So in this D2R Ladder Harlequin Crest farming guide, IGVault will share a few tips and the best places to find Shakos.
Get a little bit of magic find at least early on
A good way we suggest to do it is to take a helmet that has 3 open sockets in it, plug some topaz in it, preferably some three perfect topazes to get that 74% magic find. But once you get that, that's a good amount because we'll take a look at this graph right up over here:
It is the magic find diminishing return graph, the blue one you see goes up at a 45-degree angle finding more magic items, but if you're hunting for uniques like the Harlequins Crest, you see it tapers off very quickly over 400-500, it gets almost flat until it is almost literally exactly flat at 700, 800, 900 stuff like that. So we're not really worrying about that far down that way down the road, you're not going to have that much magic find if you're hunting for a Shako.
make sure you have teleport skill
If your character is not a Sorceress, it doesn't have the teleport skill inherently. So that you can teleport out to places faster or get past walls or gaps that you wouldn't be able to get through otherwise. You need to get a teleport staff. You can farm it from Ormus in Act 3 or buy it from Drogon, who resides in Act 2 in the town of Lut Gholein.
Cow King
Cow king is actually one of the highest drop chances for the Shako base type item in Diablo 2 Resurrected now. It used to be that if you killed the cow king in Diablo 2 you could never open a portal to the cow king level again and apparently it's going to be fixed with Diablo Resurrected. Therefore you will be able to happily kill a cow king as much as you want. The cow king in hell mode has about a 1 in 95 chance to drop the Shako base type item that is in hell difficulty or about a 1 in 300 chance of dropping that in nightmare difficulty. Whilst on route to the cow king, you are going to run into Rakanishu who has a pretty good chance of dropping the Shako base type about 1 in 250 and. Griswold also has about a 1 in 150 chance of dropping the Shako base type. Basically in your run to the cow king you've got a couple of super unique bosses that have a really good chance of dropping the Shako.

Worldstone Keep
If you're a sorceress, you can farm Shako from these two areas: Andariel (Hell - Catacombs Level 4) or Mephisto (Hell - Durance of Hate Level 3). And for any other character that is not a sorceress, places in Act 1 with champions with the highest drop odds and incredibly weak monsters are great to farm Shako fast.
Both Mephisto and Andariel are great ways to find D2R Shako Updated. Mephisto has a higher treasure class, so can drop better items. On the flip side, Andariel is known for dropping unique rings and amulets which is a solid jewelry option. Although, each one of these acts is harder than the last, making the efforts to get your hands on the D2R Runes is well worth the time and energy invested as it is one of the best unique armor pieces in the game.
