I haven't had the chance to play in groups as of yet, but it could be in the near future but I can't see myself making a difference if I strike my friends with spells (which I'm sure would be the case as enemies can strike each their opponents). It's impossible to fit 3 players against 4 zombies within a tiny space with no verticality and expect people with front line, middle, and back lines.
Left-clicking does jack all with the staff, having to stop in order to cast an attack (which is fair since you're wizard) makes enemies take over and you swap blows, and in addition, some spells will hit you, too. First encounter I'm on 20% HP.
Otherwise if I'm trying to hack a bug there's no way to accomplish it. The bug is moving too much The ice bolts can be EXTREMELY precise and melee combat can be a nightmare particularly when it's in the floor and I gotta go hit it with a staff which has a hitbox that is dagger-sized.
I'm certainly not complaining that the game is finished because it's a public access blah blah blah but like it is it requires some heavy balance. Give me more damage and make me more comfortable.
Magic Missile is THE best attack for PvE. You can easily kite or even move with the two other best effects in the game Invisibility as well as Haste Dark And Darker Gold for sale.
