Microsoft has uncovered a giveaway for a special Sonic the Hedgehog version of the Xbox Series S as part of a new contest, and it comes with shaggy controllers that are not made for greasy fingers. The contest is to promote the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film, which is because of hit theaters on April 8, 2022.
The forthcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 differs from the game of the same name, despite its poster harkening back to the game's unique box art. The first Sonic the Hedgehog 2 introduced Tails as a second playable character, while the film version of Sonic the Hedgehog featured Tails in a post-credits scene. Knuckles is also being brought into the story sooner, as he showed up in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 computer game, while the movies are introducing him as an enemy in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Sonic and Knuckles' competition will be a major part of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which is the reason they are both being featured on the impending Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Xbox Series S - and its bushy controllers. The official Xbox website has announced that there will be two sweepstakes for the chance to win one of these limited-edition Xbox Series S consoles, with the first being an international contest that involves a retweet, while the second is exclusive to North America and it involves spending Microsoft Reward points that are procured through gameplay. The furry controllers definitely aren't for greasy fingers, as seen in the picture below.
The Sonic Xbox Series S system is dark, with a gold ring pattern around its fan, with a picture of Sonic and Knuckles. What's most notable is, of course, the controllers. The vast majority of game controllers have a plastic shell, as it makes them smooth to the touch and easy to clean if necessary. A major furry controller isn't great, as they're responsible to get coated in grease or sweat. It would help in the event that they could be taken off so that they could be thrown in the washing machine. This is Microsoft's strangest controller thought since Xbox's hat and gloves set for controllers at the finish of 2021.
It's hard not to see these new Xbox Sonic controllers as anything other than dirt magnets. Computer game controllers tend not to be clean at the best of times, especially for individuals who own cats or dogs. The possibility of a furry controller seems to consolidate the worst of both worlds, giving it a shiny coat that is soon to become home to a wide range of bacteria. It's a shame that Microsoft didn't use its methodology from the first Sonic the Hedgehog film, following Sonic's redesign after the disastrous first trailer, to make him resemble the computer game character. There was a Sonic the Hedgehog Xbox One system that had a blue and dark controller, which might have been the better thought for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Xbox system.
