Stranger Things Mission Comes to Far Cry 6 in Time for Free Weekend

The Far Cry 6 x Stranger Things crossover mission will go live across all platforms later this week, just in time for the game's Free Weekend event. Ubisoft initially teased Far Cry 6's Stranger Things content upon announcing its post-send off plans in September 2021. The announcement in question detailed two other crossover missions as well, with one starring Machete's Danny Trejo and the other revolving around Rambo.

Notably, the Danny Trejo-starring downloadable content, "Dani and Danny vs Everybody," went live in December 2021, inviting players to assist the actor with defeating soldados who didn't appreciate Trejo's widely popular tacos being given to the destitute for free. Another mission featuring the Machete star saw Dani and Danny teaming up to help students protesting the Antón Castillo system on Yara. The Rambo-inspired DLC sent off toward the beginning of February as "All the Blood," allowing Far Cry 6 owners to go Rambo with a lethal Vengeance Bow, special stuff, and a new vehicle. Far Cry 6's final crossover DLC will force Dani Rojas to take on a different kind of awfulness.

The Stranger Things crossover mission for Far Cry 6, "The Vanishing," arrives later this week on Thursday, March 24, Ubisoft announced. Those who bounce into the Stranger Things DLC will actually want to do so alone or in community. Better yet, the new content launches just in time for the FPS title's Free Weekend, which kicks off on March 24 and comes to a close on March 27. Ubisoft also noted that during the three-day time frame, Far Cry 6 will partake in a 50 percent discount on the main game and a 35 percent discount on the usually $40 Season Pass.

Apparently, not even beloved Far Cry 6 amigo Chorizo will be safe in "The Vanishing." The specifics remain hush-hush, but players can expect the Stranger Things content to begin with Yarans mysteriously disappearing without a trace. Islanders believe a strange creature is responsible, leaving Dani to investigate Yara's very own Upside Down.

The Stranger Things crossover comes on the heels of Far Cry 6's final villain-centric Season Pass episode - Joseph: Collapse - which sent off in February. Episode 1 spun around fan-favorite antagonist Vaas Montenegro, and permitted players to venture profound into the caverns of his psyche. The second episode starred Far Cry 4's Pagan Min, offering up a roguelite experience similar to the first chapter. It remains to be seen assuming Ubisoft will pursue a second year of post-send off support for the sixth mainline Far Cry entry.
