Thinking about investing in a growing company's stock

Our company's been eyeing this other business that's been growing pretty steadily. While they're still in that growth phase, we could invest in their stock and potentially see some solid returns down the line. But there's definitely some doubt here, what if they just collapse overnight? How can we figure out what's going to happen with their stock in the near future, is there anyone who can actually forecast this kind of thing?

Timing the market is what separates the people who make money from the ones who lose their shirts. You see a company trending upward and it looks like easy money, but then you remember all those startups that looked promising and tanked six months later. A lot of firms will sell you predictions and projections, but most of that is just educated guessing dressed up in fancy charts. Technical analysis can show you patterns, fundamental analysis breaks down their financials, but neither one can tell you for sure what's happening next quarter.
