Need to move ETH from Optimism to Ethereum

I managed to stack up some crypto across a few different layer networks over the last year. Some of my funds are sitting on Optimism right now and the rest is on the main Ethereum network. My goal is to consolidate everything into one place so I can actually keep track of it all. I heard direct network swaps are not really possible and people usually run some crazy complex routing schemes to get the tokens across. Those wild setups are completely over my head since I just want to move my ETH from Optimism over to the mainnet. What is the easiest way to pull off this transfer?

New crypto users always chase the lowest gas fees and end up making accounts on literally every new chain that pops up. Keeping track of all those scattered tokens gets super confusing after a few months of active trading. You only realize the catch when you actually try to pull your money back to the base layer. The official native withdrawal process takes seven days to clear because of their security checks. Most guys just send their coins to a centralized exchange first and then withdraw them to the correct network. You can deposit your Optimism tokens into an active account on Binance or Kraken and then initiate a standard withdrawal directly to your mainnet wallet address.
