Early Saturday morning, a 19-year-old man was killed and two other men aged 19 and 22 were injured after they were hit by a train while attempting to cross the tracks. The crash happened outside of the REM's operating schedule.

By 3 p.m, the new REM operator, Pulsar, said service on the line had been restored.

"A group of people walking attempted to cross Highway 10 and the REM tracks to reach the other side. Despite the arrival of a train, they continued walking," Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Ève Brochu-Joubert told CBC.
